15 Hearty Winter Soup Recipes
The cool weather is here, and while we are in the throws of fall, winter is on its way. These are the months to enjoy some hearty winter soups to warm you from the inside out.
It’s the time of year we stop making copious amounts of hamburgers and hot dogs, put the grill away and pull out the big soup pot.
There’s something so special about the changing seasons. I love summer just as much as the next person, but near the end I tire of it.
I’m ready for cooler days where I need a sweater and the colored leaves are blowing past my windows, falling from the trees. I love to witness the changing of the seasons.
Except, something weird happened this year. We had an unseasonably warm September. And even October has been warm.
We are currently at the end of the October, and about a week ago I realized I hadn’t made a single soup all fall. It didn’t seem right! How did fall almost pass me by without a single soup on my dinner table?
In that moment I suddenly craved all the soups. So on my next grocery trip I was sure to buy all the soup ingredients.
I can assure you, my lack of soup eating has been rectified. There has been soup simmering on my stove multiple times in the last few days. There will also be soup simmering on my stove in the next few days. And that trend will continue for the rest of season.
If you need some new soup inspiration this year, today’s post is for you. Because if you are anything like me, you might want to add some new recipes to your previous year’s soup repertoire.
I tend to gravitate to the same ones and whenever I’m getting a little bored with the soup recipes we make I start scouring the internet looking for something new.
