Maybe you looked at the title of this blog post and thought, “yeah, right.” But it’s true – there are real ways to make money from home for free and today I’m going to talk about those ways.
As someone who has worked from home for the past three years I can tell you it’s a huge blessing. It allows me to be home with the kids, it allows me to bring in income, and it allows me to set my own schedule and work on my own terms.
I mean, who WOULDN’T like to be their own boss?
It’s great. Especially when I need a day off. I mean, my boss is pretty reasonable and gives me time off whenever I ask. 🙂
Now, my work experience wasn’t exactly free, but I know that sometimes people need a completely free option and there are ways to do that. Thankfully, my start-up fee was quite low, probably under $150 after all was said and done which is pretty good considering you couldn’t start a bricks and mortar business for that kind of price.

REAL WAYS TO MAKE MONEY FROM HOME FOR FREE
Freelance writing
I do this on the side apart from my blog. I write for a various clients and get paid for it. How much you will get paid will greatly vary depending on who you work for, how long you’ve been freelancing, and what kind of experience you have but it definitely can be lucrative over time.
You can write for other bloggers, for companies who need content for their sites or even for printable documents, for magazines and more.
Babysitting
If you like kids and have the space you can babysit to make some extra cash. You can go all out and start a home daycare (though you may have some start up costs with this in the way of safety equipment and toys) or just babysit one child. You can also do before and after-school care which is a great option because it allows you to make some extra money while freeing you up most of the day still.
Virtual Assistant
You can work as a virtual assistant for someone for free. Of course, you need a computer of some sort, but I’m assuming you already have one since most people do these days. As long as you have that you can be a virtual assistant!
Pet Sitter/Dog Walker
Do you love animals? There are plenty of people out there who need a pet sitter or someone to walk their dog for various reasons. They may be too busy with work, or they may be a person who can’t get out and walk for health reasons. Whatever the case you can do these jobs without any start-up cost!
Obviously if you are walking a dog you are technically leaving your home, but a couple walks a day won’t take you long and you’ll come right back to your cozy home!
Surveys
Now, this is an option that isn’t going to make you a ton of money, but if you are just looking for some extra 100 dollars a month or so, surveys can be a good option. They are great because you can do them when you have little pockets of time, like when your children are napping, or everyone is watching a tv show.

Tutor
Did you find school a breeze? Do you find you are strong in academics? Why not consider tutoring some kids. Parents are often looking for someone to help their child who may be struggling.
Social Media Manager
Nowadays almost every business has a social media presence. Many times the owners of these companies are just way too busy to keep up with social media. Many hire this job out. If you know your way around things like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and even Pinterest, this could be right up your ally.
HOW TO MAKE MONEY FROM HOME FOR FREE
It isn’t impossible to find legitimate work from home opportunities. These days many bosses are allowing their employees to work from home. If you are still working in an office and have the desire to work from home why not approach your boss and ask them if it’s an option? The worst they can say is no.
The other option is to keep an eye on job ads. These days because working from home is a more viable option, you may just be lucky enough to come across an employer advertising a work-at-home opportunity. Bonus points if it is in the career you want or the field you studied in.
You can legit earn money at home for free with no start-up cost. Try one of the ideas up above. Commit to it and treat it as a business. Give it time to grow and you may be surprised where you are in a year with your home-based business.
